Papa’s House

I took this picture in the fall of 2009 after the final time I would cut Papa’s grass that year. This “chore” is something that my brother Daniel and I have shared for more than 15 years now, and I took this picture because I am very mindful of the many lessons I have learned while helping Papa keep his yard in tip-top shape. Lessons about caring, kindness, helpfulness, thrift, time management, leadership and more were all instilled in my siblings and I, as well as our parents, cousins and friends in some way by Papa in years passed and still continue to be.

His ability to teach is unmatched and his willingness to patiently explain even the most menial steps to those he cares about has always been extremely admirable.

I post a picture of Papa’s house, in which my Mom and her two sisters and brother were raised by Nana and Papa because there is an amazing amount of love that has flowed from that small two bedroom home over the years.

What memories do you have of Papa’s house?
